      Color

Black is our most popular color for a sleek look that goes with everything. Silver, Blue, Red and Purple are also available in the standard set. Custom colors other than standards can be ordered for $75 extra.

If ordering a custom color make note in the special instructions box on the next page at checkout.

      Pad

Slim Line underarm pads offer comfort while minimizing abrasion to your clothes. Slim Line pads are made from wet suit material so they will not absorb perspiration.

Rubber underarm pads are comfortable and extremely durable because they are made of high quality natural dry latex rubber. These were air blown during manufacturing to provide more cushioning.

      Grip

Poron Grips are designed to absorb crutch shock and protect your hands and shoulders. Poron Grips have a tough PVC vinyl shell and shock absorbing polyurethane center. Poron Grips are durable and do not stretch, so there is no skin sheer.

Leather Grips are very comfortable and are designed to fill the arch of the hand. These grips feature a black natural cowhide leather cover over a closed polyurethane pad. Velcro secures the leather to the pad.

      Tips

We offer a variety of crutch tips to meet each customer's unique needs.

The Aventure Tip offers unmatched flexibility and a versatile, even wearing, bottom. Because of their highly flexible nature, Aventure Tips are recommended for users weighing 175lbs and less. These tips work great on tile and slippery surfaces, and have the same diameter as Tornado Tips.

The Performance Tip provides great shock absorbing qualities coupled with high quality rubber for superior flexibility, better ground control, and longer wear. The Performance Tips are our most durable offering, but they do weigh a bit more than both the Aventure and Tornado Tips.

The Tornado Tip is our most popular option. The Tornado Tip offers a great mix of flexibility, shock absorption, and durability. Designed for less-active crutch users who want a tip with great traction and durability.

Performance Rain Tips provide the same great features as the Performance Tips, but with greatly enhanced slip-resistance on wet floors. While not slip-proof, Performance Rain Tips can help to reduce the number of crutch related falls caused by wet smooth surfaces.

Tornado Rain Tips have all the same great qualities as our Tornado Tips, superior flexibility, better ground contact and longer wear, with highly improved slip-resistance in wet conditions. Tornado Rain Tips have a rain disk formula bonded over the tread making them over 300% more wet slip resistant than any rubber tip that we offer. They have excellent traction on dry surfaces as well.

    • Do you often stub your crutch tips on the ground? It may mean your crutches are too long. Do you  feel stoop shouldered? They may be too short. Try this test. Standing tall with your crutches at you side, allow your hand to drape over the hand grip. The deep crease between the palm of your hand and your wrist should line up with the top surface of your hand grip. If that crease falls way above the top of the grip there is a good chance your crutches are too short. If the crease is below the top of the grip your crutches are probably too long.  Even if you are comfortable with the fit of your present crutches, check your measurements against the following information.

      X  and Y measurements:

The X and Y measurements are two measurements needed to make your custom crutches.  The X refers to the distance between the top of the underarm pad and the top of the grip handle.  The Y refers to the distance between the top of the grip and the bottom of the crutch tube or tip.  Specify at check out if this measurement is with or without crutch tips.  We will add the extra length onto the crutch when we know what kind of tips you'll be using.   Always use a tape measure, not a ruler, as it's more flexible.

      To take the X Measurement:

Using a tape measure, measure down the middle of the crutch from the top of the underarm pad to the top of the hand grip.

      To take the Y Measurement:

Using a tape measure, hook the end to the bottom of the crutch tip or tube and measure to the top surface of the hand grip. Specify at checkout if this measurement is with or without tip.  We will make sure the length is correct when we know what kind of tip you'll be using.
